The bus was actually invented originally in France, but don't tell anyone. Since the dawn of motoring, the people of America has needed a way to get around. For those who had no automobile, cities had to provide some sort of transportation. Hence the city bus.

This blog has pictures of some of these vehicles as they were in the days that they ran the city streets carrying riders to work, shopping and anywhere else that they wanted to go.

Also featured are long distance buses such as Greyhound and Pickwick. Back in the 1950s and early '60s, I used all of these buses both city and long distance. What a trip!
